This space started life as an empty shell in an uptown rehabilitated loft. The owner’s challenge was to create as much useable square footage as possible, while maintaining the feeling of openness and light that characterized the empty space.
Barely tall enough for two floors, we strategically found places for a full kitchen, open living room, two bathrooms, and two separate sleeping lofts. A central staircase connects both lofts to each other as well as to the main level.
Each floor boasts a full bath, while light wells cut out of the loft floors allow light from upper windows to cascade down into the main level. Plenty of storage rounds out the program, allowing for a functional, two level space suitable either for residential or commercial use.
